NCW Foundation for Youth Grant: Up to $1,000 for Youth Organizations in Chelan and Douglas Counties
If your organization serves young people in Chelan or Douglas County in Washington State, the NCW Foundation for Youth Grant is one of the most accessible local funding opportunities available to you. Effective July 1, 2026, the program has been updated with new review timelines and a stronger focus on smaller organizations. Here is everything you need to know.

Who Is Behind It
The NCW Foundation for Youth Grant is a field of interest fund administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, commonly known as CFNCW. Based in Wenatchee, Washington, CFNCW has been connecting donors and nonprofits across the region for decades. The NCW Foundation for Youth was created specifically to fund programs that directly benefit young people in Chelan and Douglas counties. To date the fund has granted over $226,000 across both counties.
The Grant Amount
Up to $1,000 per award. Grants are non-competitive in the traditional sense organizations are reviewed against the fund's criteria rather than ranked against each other and applications are accepted year-round.
What Gets Funded
The grant supports a wide range of youth-centered initiatives including field trips, afterschool programs, transportation assistance, youth safety equipment, scholarships, clothing and food assistance, access to recreational and educational opportunities, and holiday giving programs. The fund also supports annual partnerships with local law enforcement including the Wenatchee Police Department's Shop with Cops program and the East Wenatchee Police Department's Eastmont Elves program.
Special consideration is given to programs that either serve a large number of youth or provide access to experiences and opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable to young people in the region.
What Does Not Get Funded
Fundraising events, facility improvements, venue rentals, staffing costs, marketing expenses, and out-of-state travel are typically not funded.
Who Is Eligible
Nonprofits, schools, clubs, and community organizations serving youth in Chelan and Douglas counties are eligible to apply. Effective July 1, 2026, the program now places greater preference on smaller organizations with annual operating expenses under $250,000.Organizations that receive funding must wait 12 months before applying again. Awarded funds must be spent within six months of the award date. The core mission of the grant remains unchanged: removing barriers and creating opportunities for youth throughout North Central Washington.
