Awesome Foundation Grant 2026: $1,000 No-Strings-Attached Grants for Creative and Community Projects
Have an idea that could make your community a little more awesome? The Awesome Foundation Grant offers one of the simplest funding opportunities available. Through its global network of local chapters, the Foundation awards $1,000 microgrants every month to support creative, innovative, and community-driven projects. Best of all, the funding comes with no strings attached—you keep ownership of your idea, and you don't have to repay the grant.

Who Is Behind the Grant?
The Awesome Foundation is a global community of volunteers founded in 2009 to support "awesome" ideas around the world. Rather than operating as a traditional grantmaker, the Foundation consists of 68 autonomous chapters across nine countries, each managed by local trustees who pool their own money to fund one or more projects, typically every month. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $7.8 million to over 7,800 projects.
Grant Amount
Successful applicants receive a $1,000 grant (or the local currency equivalent, depending on the chapter).
The grant is:
No strings attached
Not a loan
Not an investment
No equity or ownership required
No repayment expected
Recipients retain complete ownership of their projects and ideas.
Who Can Apply?
The Awesome Foundation welcomes applications from:
Individuals
Community groups
Nonprofit organizations
Informal teams
Businesses
Artists
Entrepreneurs
Students
There are no formal eligibility requirements beyond completing the application. Most chapters, however, give preference to projects that benefit their local communities.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis through the Awesome Foundation website.
Before applying:
Choose a chapter near your community whenever possible.
If there isn't a suitable local chapter, you may apply to "Any" or select a thematic chapter.
Complete the short online application describing your idea, why it's awesome, and how you'll use the funding.
